Director Host City (Copenhagen) - Ole Udsholt’s involvement in GLBT sports dates back from his first participation in EuroGames in Frankfurt in 1995. He took part in the bowling competition then. The year after, in Berlin , he was one of the judges in the Cheerleading competition. In Amsterdam at the Gay Games in 1998, Ole played volleyball.
In 1995 Ole joined the board of Danish D-Lite, a GLBT multi sport club in Aarhus , Denmark ’s second largest city. He was the treasurer of Danish D-Lite up to 2000, and during the same period was a driving force in developing the annual single sport tournament into a larger multi sport event.
After a period abroad, Ole joined the organizing committee for the EuroGames 2003 in Copenhagen , his main responsibilities being the social and the cultural activities. Ole’s focus and main drive has always been to ensure that the participants experience not only a quality sport event, but also have access to rewarding social activities.
In 2003 Ole was elected to the board of EGLSF, the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation, and represented EGLSF at the FGG annual meeting in 2003 in Chicago . Ole is also a board member for Pan Idraet – a GLBT multi-sport club in Copenhagen with about 500 members involved in 10 different sport disciplines.
Ole works as a recruitment officer in a recruitment agency in Copenhagen . Previously, Ole was a school teacher, and he also has several years of experience in human resource management as a floor manager in a department store. Privately, Ole is married to Thomas, his partner of 14 years, and they live just outside of Copenhagen. |
