Director Asia Pacific - Geoff Lyne has been involved with GLBT sport since he was one of the founders of the Outriggers Rowing Group in London , England in 1997. The wonderful experience of participating in the rowing regatta in 1998 at the Gay Games in Amsterdam was replaced with disappointment that rowing was excluded from the Sydney Games in 2002.

As a result of this disappointment Geoff, and other motivated rowers from around the world, took the lead to form the Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation (GLRF). GLRF was created to promote the growth of the sport of rowing in the GLBT community and to work with international bodies, both mainstream and LGBT to ensure the inclusion of rowing in international sporting events.

At the beginning of 2002 Geoff was requested by the organizers of the Sydney 2002 Games to act as a consultant on the delivery of the event’s information technology (IT) requirements. In July of that year he took a more active role and oversaw the delivery of the Games’ technology system and infrastructure. Also in 2002, Geoff joined the board of Team Sydney and is presently working to re-establish Team Sydney in a leadership role in the Sydney GLBT sports community.

Geoff has lived most of his life in Sydney , Australia . He has a business technology degree from the University of New South Wales , and works as a senior technology manager in a wealth management company in Australia.
