2008/2009 Board of Directors At the 2008 Delegate Congress, GLISA welcomed its newest board member, Dan Vaudrin, from Montreal. view »
Committees The board is assisted in its work by standing committees and ad-hoc task forces, created and empowered by the board to suit its needs. Standing Committees focus on broad functions of the organization (as opposed to activities of the organization). Task forces may also be created by the board to perform certain tasks that are not necessarily ongoing.
Staff Governance and management are not the same thing. Governance involve the development, approval, monitoring and review of policies (such as strategic plans, business plans, governance policies, bylaws, hosting policies, technical policies, etc.) while management encompasses the implementation of such policies. Governance is the job of the Delegate Congress and the Board of Directors, while management will be the job of committees and professional staff. GLISA currently draws on the experience of a contract staff person for the management of GLISA operations: view »
